A fine mahogany arched top Bracket clock with full brass dial .The dial with Strike/Silent to the arch , engraved and silvered dial center and calendar ring . fine spandrels to decorate the corners with a polished dial back plate . The highly figured case with fine , 'fish scale' sound frets to both sides backed with silk , a brass handle to the top arch of the case , standing on bracket feet . The substantial  twin fusee pull repeat movement with finely engraved back plate and pendulum . A glazed rear door . John Meek is recorded and known to have worked from 1828 - 32 although at only four years we would think he worked either side of these dates and we would date this clock to circa 1815. He was well known for musical bracket clocks of great complication. Click on the image for more photos in greater detail.
