A superb 'Grande Sonnerie' carriage clock in a satin gilt , gorge case with a masked dial and push repeat with alarm  . This clock has been fully restored , dismantled , serviced and regulated . Birch and Gaydon of  172 Fenchurch street , London and were at this address from 1874 to 1905. They were retailers and makers of fine small clocks , watches and Jewelry and were later bought out by Asprey who still own the name Birch and Gaydon . The clock is stamped for Drocourt with the oval DC . Alfred the son of Pierre Drocourt took over the business in the 1870's , they had won several medals at the Paris exhibitions - Bronze 1867 , Silver 1868 and the Gold medal in 1889 .This fine clock also retains the large silvered platform and jeweled lever escapement .
