LeRoy , Half Hour Sonnerie with Alarm
Well this is a first for us ! A very rare , pinched corner , gorge case , Half Hour Sonnerie Carriage clock with Alarm in very original condition with the original Bi-metallic , jewelled lever escapement . Bell striking on the Hour , with Half hour Sonnerie ( the hour strike followed by a pleasant two bell second quarter chime) . Also if the push repeat is depressed it will give the full Grande sonnerie on demand for each quarter . The movement is completely original , fully serviced and working perfectly . This Half hour Sonnnerie Carriage clock has the addition of an Alarm and has bevelled white glass . A good addition is the name engraved on the side of the backplate LeRoy & Fils Palais Royal 13 - 15 Paris .... please click here or on the image to see detailed photos.They exhibited at the major exhibitions winning a bronze medal at Paris 1867, the Silver at Paris 1878 and the gold at Paris in 1889.This clock is numbered C319 and most probably dates circa 1860-70
