Carriage Clocks

J.W.Benson , Push Repeat , Hour Strike .

A large corniche case , Carraige clock in very original condition with an oval bevelled top glass to view the original Bi-metallic , split , jewelled lever escapement . Gong striking on the Hour and once on the half hour . The movement is completely original and has been fully serviced , polished and set up . This Carriage clock was retailed by J.W.Benson of 25 Old Bond Street , London Circa 1890 , and has the logo J.W.B. Stamped in an oval to the rear plate . Interestingly this oval happens to be the exact size of Drocourts and after careful photography I have managed to show the Drocourt logo beneath the JWB . It is however stamped between the main plates with the Drocourt Logo . J.W.Benson had numerous clocks made for them by Alfred and Pierre Drocourt . This clock also retains the name to the dial which is often worn away .

Height 180mm , Depth 80mm , Width 97mm
