Large Gorge , Paris
A fine , large gorge case Carraige clock in very original condition , in its original leather case which has been numbered 141 (to match the clock number 141) with bevelled glass and a secret compartment in the base to store the Key . The clock has a large bevelled top glass to view the Bi-metallic , lever platform escapement . The fully serviced 8 day movement is Bell striking on the Hour and once on the half hours the movement is completely original and working perfectly , the white glass all of which have been bevelled are in perfect condition . This carriage clock is signed on the rear of the dial. We cannot make out the names but please click through the images to see in detail . The Large gorge case is quite unusual in that the base has a double bow and seems to be a heavier gauge cast brass . A very attractive and substantial Carriage clock Circa 1870 ,
