A fine break arch Georgian period mantel clock with a black lacquered piano finish cabinet hand painted with gold leaf and exquisite Chinoiserie motifs, each unique and signed by the artist, circa 1780. This excellent example has a polished 8 day triple chime movement with 9 jewel platform escapement which plays either Westminster, Whittington or St. Michael melodies on rods, and comes with chime silencer, automatic night silencer (10.00 PM - 7.15 AM) and chime sequence correction. Decorated with a solid brass dial and cherub spandrels, a silver finish chapter ring and fine milled hands, as well as bevelled glass and lacquered solid brass furniture.
