Mantel Clocks

Jaeger LeCoultre, Atmos

The Atmos clock was invented in 1928 by Jean Leon Reutter and Jaeger LeCoultre. It is a remarkable clock as it does not require winding, the clock winds itself through changes in atmospheric pressure. The Atmos clock is also one of the few clocks which remains almost silent whilst running. This example has the rarer black dial which gives good contrast to the gilt numbers and hour indices.
