A good 12" dial wall clock in a mahogany case. The movement is single fusee has square plates with fine original Steel Hands and runs for 8 days . The enamelled dial is signed Camerer Cuss , 54-56 New Oxford Street , London . The Anglo-German clockmaking firm Camerer Kuss . The partnership was founded in Bloomsbury by two German immigrants in 1788. In 1867 the firm opened a retail outlet and workshop in New Oxford Street. The shop eventually had several branches, some of which specialised in selling jewellery. The flagship New Oxford Street shop closed in 1983. this clock would date to around 1890-1900 .The case has two doors - the side door held with a latch the convex bottom door held with a lock and Key.
